On Saturday June 8th the capital played host to London Fashion Week Men’s and St James’s was at the heart of the celebration of elegance, creativity and style as Jermyn Street was transformed into an open-air catwalk for the day.
The event which is a firm fixture on the fashion calendar, gave visitors a taste of the London Fashion Week Men’s buzz with see-now-buy-now runway shows, allowing guests to purchase SS19 looks straight from the catwalk show in stores across Jermyn Street and St James’s.
Stylish Londoners were invited to share the front row with the world’s fashion leaders, media and influencers for a series of one of a kind shows as St James’s gave away over 700 show tickets.
“Jermyn Street is home to a wide variation of British and international brands from heritage tailoring labels to contemporary design and innovative sportswear. It is a dynamic hub for menswear and a key moment of the LFWM schedule where the public can get involved to celebrate the best of fashion and of what our city has to offer.” said Caroline Rush CBE, Chief Executive of the British Fashion Council.
Brands showing on the runway will include Grenson, Jigsaw, Sunspel and Aspinal of London as well as heritage names Harvie & Hudson, John Smedley, Trickers and Aquascutum, all curated by top London stylist Catherine Hayward, Fashion Director at Esquire.
As well as experiencing the runway shows, visitors were able to drop into the restaurants and retailers of St James’s for a variety of special activities and exclusive offers.
What better way to celebrate London Fashion Week Men’s than in the original home of menswear with a one-of-a-kind open-air catwalk display of unique and covetable collections, street food and live music.
